Forum in Dubai to discuss methods on recycling and reusing waste

Waste Management Forum will look at benefits of recycling and reusing waste

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Press Release) Oct 15, 2013 -- Clean Energy is distributing a renewable form of natural gas at its stations in California that uses waste from landfills and sewage plants. The fuel named Redeem is a derivative of methane produced from the decay of organic waste. The company expects to produce 15 million gallons of Redeem this year.

Waste is being used as a resource to generate various chemicals and fuels by various companies. With substantial benefits from converting municipal waste to various fuels, companies are embarking on new ventures. 4th Annual Waste Management Middle East Forum to be held in Abu Dhabi - UAE on 11 - 12 November 2013 will bring together global waste management professionals to discuss such latest developments. Enerkem who are into production of biofuels and renewable chemicals from waste is one of the silver sponsors at the forum.

Tim Cesarek, Senior Vice President - Business Development at Enerkem will be presenting on the benefits and commercial viability of converting municipal waste to high value products also looking into emergence of sustainable solutions that are complementary to recycling. With over 20 years of experience in business development and corporate venture capital, Cesarek joined Enerkem‘s management team as Senior Vice President - Business Development, North America, in March 2012.

Topics like potential health hazards due to improper waste management, challenges in handling hazardous waste, bio-medical waste and e-waste will be explored through various case studies and presentatons. Delegates will get an opportunity to be a part of panel discussions on creating balance between environmental protection & economic growth and effective resource & waste management for tomorrow.

The forum is being supported by the Dubai Municipality. Eng. Abdulmajeed Saifee, Director of Waste Management Department, UAE at the Dubai Municipality is a key panelist at the forum. Dubai Municipality through its various initiatives has effectively arrested waste management issues. It believes as a part of one of its initiatives that began in May, it will reduce 500 million platic bags from circulation by year end. It will be a great opportunity for deleagtes to learn and implement from these initiatives.
