FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEPressnews.biz (Press Release) Mar 20, 2014 -- The infamous trio of business partners, Alexander Mashkevich, Patokh Chodiev and Alijan Ibragimov, are three influential Kazakh oligarchs with ties to a wide range of crimes including a flipping scandal and the trafficking of underage prostitutes, who came under investigation in 1997, after it was confirmed that they took bribes to secure a gas pipeline concession. The India-based Belgian company, part of GDF SUEZ Energy Services, made payments of over €50 million to the trio, who then used the money to bribe corrupt officials and to give kickbacks to former Tractebel executives. The payments were accounted for as ‘consulting fees’ in the company books. The investigation by Belgian and Swiss judicial authorities was wide-ranging and involved allegations of international money-laundering. It became one of the most protracted cases in Belgian history.
