-- 8 must-haves in Tool kits for Computer Repair
A computer technician is as good as the job he does. Talk to a well-experienced professional in the field, he would confirm this observation. But, to do a good job, you should have the right kind of tools. Having to leave in the midst of work is not regarded as a good sign. Make sure that you have the following tools at your disposal when taking up a project to diagnose and repair a PC.
If computer is your lifeline, a service person is its doctor. Having the right kind of tools is a must to diagnose diseases and give medications. Make sure that you have the following items in your toolbox.
These should be there whenever you try to repair any device using electricity. You can buy the ones of different sizes and shapes. But, take care not to use a magnetic screwdriver inside a PC at any cost.
2. Bootable device
This will come handy when trying to access data in a damaged Windows OS. Don’t think that a floppy disc will do the job. An operating system is too large to contain in a CD. See to it that the device you carry has at least 500 gigabytes of space.
3. Network cable tester
Sometimes, the problem may be at the outside, not inside. In such an instance, you have to make sure that the cables are of good quality. A network cable tester is your best friend in this regard.
4. Small pocket knives
Cutting wires is a small job. But, this too requires reliable tools if you want to do it well. Do not forget to include some good-quality knives in your computer repair tool kit.
Don’t think that tweezers are meant just for make-up. Having a pair of them will help you take out the small screws which happen to fall inside when repairing the same. This becomes a must because you cannot shake a PC; something may fall off. They also help you to take off jumpers (small blocks of plastic with wires attached to them).
This is not often included among the tools which should be there in a computer repair tool kit. But, most of the interiors of the PCs of today feature dark interiors. Having an adjustable clip light will help you detect small screws and take them out if you want.
7. Cleanup products
Most of the time, the only trouble with a PC would be dust and dirt. A few pieces of cotton cloth or a few cans of alcohol may work wonders. Carry some cleanup products for PCs wherever you go.
8. Tie-downs and straps
Managing the cables well is integral to a good computer. But, you cannot wish the wires to stay in their proper places. Make sure that you have the required number of adhesive ties and straps when servicing a PC.
Explore the Internet; you will be able to shop for tool kits for computer repair. That is the best way if you don’t have the time to spend to locate all these items.
