What are contents of OSRS Competitive Tournament?

The competition that will hold on July 24 will apply 8 teams (5 players in each team) to fight in the unique pvp arenas and win a share of $10,000 - $5,000 to the first place team, $3,000 to the second place team and $2,000 to the 3rd place team.

Players who have been accepted from the application will be available in three modes to fight against other teams. The first mode is that players enter the battle at any time, and the first team to score X kills will win; the second one is that the team with any players left standing will win, but each player will have only one life; the third mode is that players have to capture and control designated areas of the map to gain points until the limit is reached.

What are the most important concerns on this tournament?

1. Will services be safe during the tournament?

Many players have lost their hard-earning items in ddos attack, and now with the announcement of competition tournament, they are all concerning about the safety of services. Considering that, someone suggests that players who join in the competition should be given new names in the tournament, while others think players can change IP to avoid such an attack. According to players, it is better to ask ISP local shop for a new modem, or unplug modem overnight for a slim chance of a new IP. Besides, change your own IP if you have your own router and modem. Go into the settings, change Mac address and reboot. Due to this concern, Mod Archie also explained that these matches will be hosted in private test worlds. Thus, players can have a more secure environment.

2. Why there are only 8 teams and 5 players?

According to a pile of feedback, we can see that most players don’t really support this competition due to its small team. “It doesn't seem very meaningful if there are only 40 people who get to play, and 15 of those people win prizes”. Indeed, it is pity that many players won’t get a chance since only small team will be accepted. 3. How will the 8 teams be chosen?

Since there will be only 8 teams that join in the competition, many players concern about how the teams are chosen from the applications. Some players guess that Jagex would choose streamers, elite teams, and Youtubers. But Jagex hasn’t given an answer now.
