EA Sports have made a surprising move to release a batch of winter transfers for FIFA 15 midway through the window, with the main headline being Ivory Coast striker Wilfried Bony’s move from Swansea City to champions Manchester City.

Normally at the end of the January transfer window EA will release a new download which will allow players to play with clubs with fully updated transfers.

However this year they have released a first part of transfers after around three weeks with the main headline being Bony’s £28 million move to City.

The update also covers Fernando Torres’ move from Milan and then to Atletico Madrid as well as Internazionale’s double loan deal for Arsenal’s Lukas Podolski and Bayern Munich’s Xherdan Shaqiri.

This is perhaps a sign from EA that they suspect there will be plenty of transfers between their first update and deadline day and in order to ensure they get the February update out as quickly as possible they have split the update into two parts.

It is worth bearing in mind that any players received in Ultimate Team packs before the update will stay registered to the club they were at before and that only players received after the update will be at their new teams.

January is a highly anticipated time for FIFA 15 players all across the globe. Start your countdown, because at the end of January EA will release the first of the FIFA 15 January upgrades. The developer will upgrade the players that they deem to be worthy of improvement, just like they do every year and following on from events that transpire in the real European Transfer window.

Below we will show some specific player upgrades that EA could look at, based on performances this season. Two players expected to receive a boost is Argentinian teammates Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez. Both men have been in excellent form, and Tevez almost certainly will receive an upgrade considering he has two in form cards currently.

FUT 15 players will tell you that in-form cards at this stage of the season is impressive, and it is a clear-cut sign that the player will get an upgrade with a brand new rating. Above is depicted Aguero’s potential new rating, which reflects his in-form ratings.

Two other players likely to receive an upgrade are the likes of Chelsea’s Gary Cahill and Nemanja Matic. Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic started at an 82 rating when FIFA 15 launched and most feel he was underrated. His new predicted rating is 84, and the other Chelsea player is Gary Cahill moving from an 81 to 83 predicted rating after the winter upgrade expected at the end of January.

With the all-important January transfer window fast approaching, you’re about to see your FIFA 14 game completely updated courtesy of EA Sports. All of the winter dealings will be implemented into your game once the transfer window is officially closed on the 31st of January 2014.

The best part of all this though, is the fact that you the players won’t have to do anything, as the updates regarding players moving from club to club are done automatically. This is an awesome new feature that Electronic Arts have introduced this year, and regardless of what console or device you’re playing on as well, it will still be done for you on autopilot.

This feature is brand new, and it’s never been used in any of the previous games in the series to date. There will be weekly updates, so you should expect to see new players moving to their new clubs once a week. This will only add to the realism, as EA intend to make their massively successful football game the most realistic experience as it can possible be.

Many FIFA 14 players have requested that another handy feature should be introduced in the form of player ratings being updated at the half-way stage. This has not been confirmed as an added ingredient by EA thus far, but it’s certainly one that the Canadian developers/publishers should be thinking about. It would be great to see the likes of Luis Suárez, Aaron Ramsey, Ross Barkley, and Andros Townsend get their stats increased half-way through the long season.
