The need for educational checks

It is common sense to check someone’s educational background. Ig you hire someone unqualified you are asking for a law suit.
 
It is vital for employer to conduct educational background on potential employees. It is a requirement to check educational background and it is needed by the law. It is required to check all levels of education from the highest to the lowest. In our society today, you will not be able to get employment without being certified. Verifying one’s education can shed light on a potential employee’s honesty. If they are willing to lie about their educational background what else are they willing to lie about.

It is common sense to check someone’s educational background. Ig you hire someone unqualified you are asking for a law suit. If you hire an individual who lied on their application, it is almost certain that they are going to cause and accident. This will lead back to your organization and depending on the severity of the damage caused your business might be put on trial. The position in an organization is given to a candidate base on their education level. Someone that lie about their education level will not be able to do the job correctly. This is the main reason employers need to check the educational background of potential employees.

There are some organization like small businesses that skip this procedure especially if the potential candidate is a veteran in the history. If the candidate’s employment history is sufficient and employee will skip the education background. Education credentials are usually very hard to obtain for school and educational institutions and this will deter some employees form conducting their check.

There have been cases where people are place in positions they are not qualified for because the lied about their certification and it has led to severe problems. Fraudulent information about educational achievement is very common. The percentage of people that have wrong information on their resume about their education higher than you can imagine. They get away with it at time because an employer doesn’t conduct their educational checks. Lies are also common on resume about candidate’s employment history. People get away with these lies because some employer are too lazy to conduct a proper background check.

No educational checks are mostly found in small businesses. A place where employment history counts more than educational achievements. Some companies do conduct an educational check but are to lazy to do more than requesting a scanned certificate or a conformation letter. There is no way to verify documents like these. Most times the documents provided by potential employees are fabricated. It takes a long time to get actual certificates from schools and therefore some employees get complacent about properly verifying the educational background of their potential employees. The problem of waiting for long periods of time for document from schools has been solved by third party entities that keeps records of the graduates of certain schools along with the certificate they are awarded.
