Deconstructivism is influenced by two key genres of modern art, namely cubism and minimalism. Analytical cubism has a major influence on deconstructivist art, as the content and forms are portrayed from different viewpoints concurrently. Frank Gehry and Tschumi are two of the pioneers of deconstructivist paintings. Their artworks are marked with synchronization of disunited spaces. In many earlier artworks of Frank Gehry, synthetic cubism influences are quite evident. There are contemporary artists who are successfully bearing the legacy of this minimalistic art form. Some of the eminent artists of present day and time have also been a part of one of the biggest art movements of 21st century, neo expressionism. If you are interested in buying deconstructivist or neo-ex artworks, you should go online for finding artists and artworks.

A short note on deconstructivist art
Deconstructing is nothing but deforming rationally structured objects or space with an aim to force the inner elements into radically different relationships. Deconstructivist artists are largely influenced by eminent French philosopher, Jacques Derrida. A deconstructivist relentlessly questions the accepted forms and content and strives to find newer metaphors for the representation of actual objects. Deconstructivist artists transgress the realms of realism and surrealism every so often. They constantly doubt the representation of objects and spaces and reality and create their artworks from completely different perspectives. There are many artists who have embraced this artistic philosophy and their artworks are very distinctive in terms of form or content. French painter Amedee Ozenfant first negated the purity of form and proportion in his paintings. The modernist idea of ‘form follows function’ is largely confuted by the deconstructivist artists and architects.

Is the concept new?
A good number of artists led the deconstructivism movement back in 1980s and 1990s. Rachel Whiteread and Maya Lin are among the most notables. Lin did a project for Vietnam Veterans Hospital in 1982 which is a perfect example of early deconstructivist artworks. Rachel, on the other hand, blended contemporary art with deconstructivist architecture. Ghost was a 1990 built living space which falls in line with Derrida’s architectural theory where form is more important than purpose. In other words, artists who chose to subscribe to the Derridian notion of architecture were among the leading deconstructivist artists back then. There are many modern-day artists who are still celebrating deconstructivism through their artworks.

How to tell if an artwork follows deconstructivist norms?
An artwork falls in the deconstructivist genre if it presents an accepted form of an object and then deconstructs and complicates it or interprets the ‘pure forms’ from completely different perspectives. For instance, contemporary artist Nicholas Chistiakov’s figurative paintings are not pure in terms of form, though the contents of these paintings (or subjects) are derived from reality. The artist attempts to show the other shades of reality through his paintings and that’s the biggest purpose any deconstructivist artwork serves.

How to find deconstructivist artworks online?
Artists and art exhibitors are now using the power of web to connect with critics and prospective buyers easily. Therefore, if you are interested in any genre of art such as neo expressionism, you should go on the web to find the best paintings.
