This innocuous book came to my focus in 2005 and it has passed through my hands numerous occasions due to the fact. I had no inclination to peruse its contents for I had ceased to believe in miracles. In 2005, I was cursing God for abandoning me. I was applying all my power to stave off the hell I descended into 15 years earlier by marrying a man as un-Godly as any individual may very well be.

In 2007, though packing some books as donations for a book fair, my hand once once again fell on "A Course in Miracles". By this time, I had secured a divorce from my husband but was nonetheless coping with the fallout. As I grasped the book, I became extremely thoughtful and calm. What was it about this book that invoked feelings I hadn't knowledgeable in a quite extended time? My hand clung towards the book refusing to place it down. Realizing that this was a sign that I had better take a closer appear, I made a cup of tea and sat in my favorite reading chair. With good curiosity, I focused on the blue hardcover and read "A Course in Miracles, a foundation for inner peace." Wow. That was a pretty bold statement but okay, I decided to bite. Taking a deep breath, I pondered probably the most obvious question: What's the foundation for inner peace? This book immediately opened an old wound and it had better have the answer to healing.

"A Course in Miracles" is really that, a course. Written in three components, this book is just not to be taken lightly and can't be read inside a week or perhaps a month. There is text, a workbook for students plus a manual for teachers. I had the sudden urge to fling the book across the space mainly because I was deeply and profoundly afraid. I instinctively understood that as soon as I began reading this book, I was going to possess to alter and was I ready for the journey ahead?

My preferred movie is "The Matrix". The primary character Neo is looking for the answer towards the matrix. He understands the matrix exists but he does not know what it's. The man with the answer, Morpheus, contacts Neo and gives the opportunity for truth by giving Neo a choice amongst taking a blue pill or maybe a red pill. Take the blue pill and stay ignorant or take the red pill and uncover the answer to the matrix. Prior to he reaches for his pill of choice, Morpheus cautions Neo that should he select the red pill, he can never ever go back towards the life he had been living.

"A Course in Miracles" is the red pill. Do I study it and alter almost everything I know regarding the globe and myself or do I take the blue pill and make "A Course in Miracles" book fair fodder?

As I choke down the red pill, I flip to Lesson 1 of 365 within the workbook for students and promptly study, "Nothing I see in this area indicates anything". Oh dear. Is it too late to take the blue pill?
