HV Bushing Station Global Market - Competitive Analysis

HV Bushing station market will endure to advance globally, as the market for electrical component is extremely competitive and there is continuously an intensifying demand for successive electrical components. The key market players endlessly strive for maintainable expansion of their product, so as to stay on topmost position in the HV Bushing station market. Most of the major market share is held by the tier 1 companies in the electrical component industry. New competitors are highly subjected to risk while competing in a well matured market, whereas it will be less competitive for the new competitors to get into the developing economies.

HV Bushing Station Global Market – Overview

An HV Bushing is primarily utilized in an electrical equipment, where it is a mode for transmitting an electrical conductor over a grounded object without producing short circuit. As the electrical strength differs in the conductor owing to frequency variation, leakage trails may grow inside the insulation. If this leakage overpowers the dielectric strength of the insulation, it may perforate the insulation and allows the current to conduct the nearest earthed material leading to burning and arching. The Global HV Bushing Market is driven by the growing need of reliable electric supply & consequent investment in transmission & distribution network, grid extension, and increasing safe electrical infrastructure. As per the study conducted by Market Research Future, the global market for HV Bushing station is likely to grow at the CAGR of around 4.5%.

Bushings are widely accepted across the world in numerous industrial & commercial sectors as protection devices. A bushing is typically a hollow ceramic tube, through which conductor undergoes. Bushing provides firm support to the conductors from beneath. Bushings are mainly found in circuit breakers, alternators, motors and capacitors. Also, HV Bushings are occupied with insulating materials such as oil, resin impregnated paper, and oil impregnated paper to offer greater dielectric strength which makes them permeable for installation in numerous utilities and in the manufacturing sector. The relentless need for electricity and the universal growth in grid infrastructure, will aid in the growth of Global HV bushing Market over the forecast period. Although, Instability in material costs and R&D in modern HV Bushing are likely to restrain the Global HV Bushing Market.

Geographically, the global HV Bushing station market has been divided into North America, Europe, Asia Pacific and Rest of the World. Asia Pacific is currently the major market for HV Bushing stations. Growing power demand and increasing quantity of offshore wind farms are the key aspects which are leading the market growth in the region. Countries such as the China and India are anticipated to be the major economies in this market. Rapid industrialization, urbanization, and the fast economic growth in countries such as India and China, will drive the market for HV bushings. North America and Europe are also expected to witness a stagnant growth over the forecast period, owing to modernization coupled with long scale grid expansion, Also, renovation of ageing transmission and distribution infrastructure is expected to boost the market growth.

Industry News:

In January, 2018 – ABB completed testing of the 500MW high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) transmission link, named Maritime Link, which expanses from Granite Canal in Newfoundland and Labrador to Woodbine in Nova Scotia, Canada. Estimated to cost USD 1.56 Billion, the project is being developed by NSP Maritime Link (NSPML), a wholly owned subsidiary of Emera Newfoundland & Labrador Holdings and an affiliate of Nova Scotia Power.

In December, 2017 – The UK Marine Management Organisation (MMO) issued a comprehensive pronouncement for the 1000MW Interconnexion France-Angleterre (IFA2) link project. The high voltage direct current (HVDC) project, under the TEN-E Regulations, has been acknowledged by all of the required statutory consents in UK consenting regime. It is planned to be commissioned by 2020.

In November, 2017 – Siemens successfully completed testing of its first 1,100 kV transformer, which is developed for the high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) transmission link in China. The transformer has been designed and manufactured by Siemens for the HVDC transmission link, which will be functioned by the transmission grid operator State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC).
