Most holiday-makers are also told they need to take a tour of the places they want to see in and around Sydney. While there are a number of reasons why people might want to go on a tour to get an inside look at some attraction or for companionship if they're traveling alone, there are quite a few things you can really enjoy when you happen to be exploring alone that you can't fully enjoy when you're on a tour with other people.

Some tourists pay to tour Sydney's Blue Mountains, but there's really no need as there are several stops when you're riding on a HOHO bus , train or trolley that offer you great opportunities to stop regularly and, of course, most of the stops are in the places you want to see. You will be able to ride easily through the Blue Mountains, and see much of what you will see without a guide.

However, if you want to take a tour of the mountains, there is one place that is inaccessible from these larger modes of transportation, and that is Euroka. If you are paying for a guided tour then you can make sure this is on the agenda. It is simply a grassy field, but extremely beautiful and full of birds and kangaroos. It is absolutely breathtaking.

If you sign up for a trip, make sure it will include the stuff you 'd like to see and that's interesting to you. Trip companies will also take you to locations of little meaning only to make it look as though there is more to the trip. A stop at 2000 Olympic Stadium is one traditional addition to a tour of the Blue Mountains. Although it is a nice place to visit this addition seems to take away from the mountain experience and as this arena is easily accessible by train from Sydney's Central Station there is little need to try and cram this in as you enjoy the spectacular views of the mountains.
