But Lionel Messi has been dropped from the FIFA 17 cover as EA Sports released their first teaser trailer for the upcoming version of the game.
 
Lionel Messi is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a forward for Spanish club Barcelona and the Argentina national team. Often considered the best player in the world and rated by many in the sport as the greatest of all time, Messi is the only football player in history to win five FIFA Ballons d'Or, four of which he won consecutively, and the first player to win three European Golden Shoes.

But Lionel Messi has been dropped from the FIFA 17 cover as EA Sports released their first teaser trailer for the upcoming version of the game. If you want to know more about that, welcome to u4fifa.

The Barcelona star and possibly the best footballer of the generation has been put out of FIFA cover for the first time in five years. Messi had a four-year contract with EA Sports which expires this year and surprisingly, the contract is not getting renewed anytime this year.

While most football fans are not happy about the decision, there is something to cheer about the other possible players who are set to be the cover starts on the game. Anthony Martian, Eden Hazard, Marco Reus and James Rodriguez have been featured in the new advert of FIFA 17 and the game is surely going to see some change this time.

The trailer also gets a voiceover from the new Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.

Messi was featured on every FIFA covers since 2013, before which English stars Wayne Rooney and Jack Wilshere made it on the cover on FIFA 12.

Is FIFA out of its mind? We don’t know yet.

Fans absolutely love Lionel Messi and replacing him from the covers might hit EA Sports back in terms of sales they could possibly make.
