Plastic surgeons have the ability to mould a body part and efficiently allow it to be fit and work in the rest of the human body, this is the miracle they perform behind the science. The concept here is that they discover ways to change the shape of body tissues and restore these to their original form and shape. So you can imagine, the cosmetic surgery starts all the way down from the tiny parts of the body that we cannot see. Sounds like a really tough job, does not it?

Qualifications Of Cosmetic Surgeons

Cosmetic surgeons have to pass through a particular number of qualifications before they can actually start practicing their own work. These surgeons undergo stages of research, education and learning and training in controlled environments and later get integrated in order to hospitals where now the real surgery is done.

A plastic surgeon has to be approved by several bodies such as the Australian Board regarding Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Australian Medical Council (AMC), New Zealand Medical Council (NZMC) and the Australian Community of Plastic Surgeons Council. These are considered the best certification body for surgeons. Also, they must have graduated from a well known medical school and be able to provide their documents for confirmation.

The second qualification is to successfully complete twelve years or even more in surgical training. Another qualification is that they have to move oral and written exams set by the society. This can ensure that the surgeons are equipped both practical and also theoretical concepts of cosmetic surgery.

They also have to be enrolled in a minimum of 5 years of specialist postgraduate training. This training for plastic material and reconstructive surgery and is made available by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and overlooked by the Aussie Society of Plastic Surgeons Inc. (ASPS). This is a stage that they need to complete which is also inclusive of patient safety training and exercise.

The greatest qualification any surgeon should have is the code involving ethics and conduct. It is the duty of any expert person to uphold ethics in the workplace and outside the workplace. Plastic surgeons have to perform surgical operations with accredited, Medicare-certified, along with state-licensed facilities.

What Are The Functions Of The Australian Society Associated with Plastic Surgeons

The major function of the Society is to ensure all of their surgeons offer surgical services using accredited facilities and approved medical centers. This will help patients seeking plastic surgery avoid fraudulent activities and medical problems.

The community also works to ensure that they protect the confidentiality of the patients. Each member of the society is strictly made to the actual rules and regulations in the practice of cosmetic surgery. Patients are handled safely and with care and get the best experience in reshaping themselves.

Another function of the society is protect the honesty of plastic surgery. They ensure that this specialty is only supply for what it was meant for and not for any other malicious action. This has been the long standing role of the society since 70 through administering the Surgical Education and Training Program for many Specialist Plastic Surgeons.

The society works to promote public training and forums, which helps people all over the world to be educated and know more about cosmetic surgery.
