Role of a Cinematographer-
A Cinematographer is also known as the Director of Photography are the one who catches the tales through a camera in visuals. Cinematographer’s major roles are to handle many of the film's technical elements, such as lighting, composition, design, color tones, camera gestures, etc. and also in which environment a scene should be shot is all decided by the photographer. They are the main lead of the camera crew. A director typically offers a description of how a scene will appear creatively, so the cinematographer has to do this.
Responsibilities of a Cinematographer-
-The Cinematographer has to determine where to position the camera in a given shot. From selecting the range between the camera and the subject to which lens and camera to use, all the decisions are taken by the Cinematographer.
-Camera movement plays an important role in Cinematography. In an action scene, the cinematographer guides the action through the frame to express the fast motion whilst also maintaining the seriousness of the moment.
- Lighting is something that people naturally don't notice. Although it does modify the movie's atmosphere. What kind of lighting will be perfect to show different emotions is all done by a Cinematographer.
-Cinematographers need to coordinate with other crew members, such as a location manager, to investigate locations and identify camera viewpoints.
-Cinematographers may decide where every feature of a given scene should be positioned. We can decide to show or cover some elements of the picture. Strictly framing a subject can bring forth emotions or create mystery about what's going on around the subject.
- The cinematographer would have to consider whether to use a film camera or a digital camera, which lens styles should be required, which camera configuration is needed, and what other equipment will be needed.
Cinematography Techniques-
Cinematography techniques include finding a creative solution, focusing on the story, time management, script knowledge, using relevant gear, camera tests, learning from the best, finding the perfect locations, etc.
