Although there is quick progress in COVID-19 vaccine research, the actual vaccine wouldn’t be readily available anytime soon. LHA London takes extra measures to keep their hostels COVID-free.

[16/12/2020, London] LHA London continues to welcome international residents and staff to its wide network of hostels around the UK. Before new residents can settle into any of their properties, however, they reiterate their COVID-19 precautionary measures. These measures help keep the community COVID-free.

What to Do When Planning a Stay at an LHA Property

LHA London has remained open throughout the pandemic. It monitors news from the NHS and adapts to precautionary measures as the situation progresses. It also has requests for new residents.

● All new residents from overseas should check quarantine requirements beforehand.
● All residents and visitors should use face coverings while using public transport.
● Non-emergency contractor visits should be scheduled after 11am to avoid rush hour.
● All new residents should complete and return a digital registration form prior to check-in.

LHA London has also limited short-term stays to studio units and en-suite rooms at the moment.

What to Expect Upon Arrival at an LHA Property

Some LHA London properties will have an open entrance upon the arrival of residents and visitors. Properties with intercom entry are sanitised after every arrival. Then, guests who have checked in will receive an electronic room key or a separate fob to minimise contact.

Upon checking in, new residents will be asked questions related to local and overseas travel. They will also be asked about their history of COVID-19 and interaction with anybody who has been symptomatic of the disease in the last two weeks. Temperature checks via a digital thermometer are also required.

There are security screens at all reception areas for the safety of both residents and staff. Also, hand sanitiser is available at all reception areas. All residents and visitors are reminded to use it.

All sites are cashless so payments must be made by credit or debit card only.

What to Do While Living at an LHA Property

All LHA residents and visitors are asked to respect social distancing measures and practice good hand hygiene within the site. They are also asked to observe one-way navigation systems around the buildings. LHA London’s housekeepers have also increased the frequency of their cleaning service in all buildings.
