Saving Light Bulbs Urges UK Homeowners to Switch Out Halogen G9 Capsule Bulbs in Favour of LED

UK citizens can save themselves a packet on their utility bill by simply switching out bulbs in inconspicuous places

Homeowners across the UK have actively been involved in the move towards a more sustainable and greener way of living where it concerns our electricity usage. However, many households have already switched out their five most-used bulbs in favour of energy-saving light fittings and, although their utility bill has decreased, it is still not as low as they would like it to be. The fact of the matter is that there may be hidden energy guzzlers in your home that you may not even be aware of.
G9 capsule bulbs are some of the smallest bulbs available. They are often considered miniature as they are usually not much bigger in size than 12mm in diameter and approximately 45mm long. Most homeowners, in fact, don’t even know that they have these bulbs in their home, and they may also not know that these bulbs are still halogen bulbs, which means that they are very inefficient and can cause your utility bill to skyrocket without you even knowing.
“It is our mission to educate UK homeowners on how best to go about selecting and installing the correct energy-saving bulbs and lighting solutions in your home,” says Paul Towers, Director of Saving Light Bulbs. “The G9 is one of the smallest bulbs in the home, and we currently have an LED G9 capsule on offer that will make the world of difference for homeowners across Britain.”
G9 capsule bulbs usually reside in cooker hoods, under-cabinet lighting, and in some integrated light fittings. If you have any of these items in your home, it is a good idea to investigate further and determine whether or not the bulbs in these fittings are of the halogen or LED configuration.
Halogen bulbs are some of the most inefficient and energy-intense bulbs you can get, and, despite their size, halogen G9 capsules can be miniature energy guzzlers if there are enough of them around. Homeowners that find that their utility bills remain relatively high even after switching out some of their larger light bulbs for energy-saving options, should consider the impact of largely invisible lighting such as cooker hoods and the like. If halogen bulbs are residing in there, they could be the culprits. Homeowners must switch out any and all halogen bulbs in favour of LEDs, no matter how small, as this may make the world of difference to not only their utility bill at the end of the month but for the planet as well.
