There are too many PGDM courses in Bangalore to take admission in. However, it is not easy to crack a PGDM entrance exam. Every year lakhs of students enrol themselves to get admission to a good business school. The theoretical knowledge can be gained through a lot of books and coaching institutes but PGDM and other related management courses require practical knowledge, good communication skills and confidence. Theoretical and bookish knowledge alone is not enough to help you qualify for a PGDM entrance exam.

Apart from the written paper, people have to prepare themselves for the group discussion (GD) and personal interview (PI).

GUIDELINES FOR GROUP DISCUSSION-
The purpose of group discussion is to always evaluate a candidate’s ability to analyze information critically and strategically. Group discussions help the candidates to have a feel of working in a business environment collectively. In the group discussion, the panel checks the personality traits of the candidates and judges them. A candidate needs to practice thoroughly right from the start. The first thing that needs to be done is to start reading a good newspaper. To crack any competitive exam, it is extremely essential to get your general knowledge enhanced for developing abilities to endure a group discussion. The editorial sections are very important to be read. One needs to have eloquent vocabulary and fluency that can make your communication skills highly developed.

The candidates need to have group dynamics, the ability to analyze situations, a good presentation style, general manners, decision making and leadership skills. The topics can be either factual or abstract. In the case of abstract topics, the creativity and artistic skills of the candidates are evaluated. The candidates can come up with different kinds of theories and interpretations. The thought process of the candidates needs to be innovative and wider in the case of abstract topics. The factual topics are directly derived from general knowledge. In this case, the candidate has to use and impart all the knowledge that he has gained. One needs to be confident and esteemed, think of the pros and cons, have a rational outlook towards the topic.

Being up to date with the recent happenings of the world, reading good books and magazines can really provide good content for a group discussion. Every business school follows a pattern, so it is also advisable to be aware of the selection pattern of the college or institute you’re trying to get into.

GUIDELINES FOR PERSONAL INTERVIEW-
Personal interviews are conducted to evaluate whether the candidate has the ability and skills required to build a career in management. Grades are not everything, the admission procedure also depends upon the personality, characteristics and calibre of the candidates. In a personal interview, a candidate is tested on personal introduction, verbal communication, eye contact and confidence, body language, interruptions and content. A candidate can’t have an elevator to success, he needs to persistently work hard and practice on himself to qualify. Doing personal interviews with family and friends can help in practice. All you need to do is be yourself, overconfidence straightaway drops a candidate’s chance to qualify to pits. Getting ready to qualify for any of the PGDM colleges in Bangalore is not a tough task anymore. With a little devotion and dedication, you can reach heights.
