When it comes to content marketing, viral content is what most companies and individuals try to achieve. However, many fail due to their misunderstanding of what makes content go viral. While many companies spend great amounts of money to try to find the secret to viral content, Roland Frasier sums it up easily with the advice he gives those who attend his lectures and seminars.

"One piece of correctly created, curated content can drive more visitors to your site than dozens of random pieces of original content," notes Frasier. "One way to do this is to create a list. A list offers the user a way to connect with the content on many levels, but the best thing about it is that you can link to dozens of sites of high relevancy, driving your SEO results through the roof."

Along with using lists to make viral content, Frasier also notes that 20 percent of total content should be event- or trend-driven. "It is important to have evergreen content, but it is also important to have content that speaks to current trends," says Frasier. "People are out there searching for certain terms, so it is very important to know what is trending."

Frasier also notes that at least 20 percent of total content should be created around "proven winners." "There are some terms that never go out of style in certain fields, and businesses should be capitalizing on those terms," says Frasier.
