[[b]North West London[/b], [b]22 July 2016[/b]] - Braces are often the best way to improve tooth alignment, but Aura Dental recognises that many adults may feel the benefits of orthodontic treatment are outweighed by the obvious nature of metal braces.

Modern orthodontics provides many more discreet solutions. Subtle fixed braces or removable aligners may be used: Aura Dental offers a range of both options, and will discuss the benefits of both braces and aligners at an orthodontic consultation.

[b]Aura Dental braces[/b]

The braces available from Aura Dental are designed for rapid correction of issues affecting the social six teeth – those in the smile line in the upper or lower jaw. Both Six Month Smiles and Cfast braces are popular options that work quickly and discreetly. Unlike standard metal braces, both these appliances comprise clear and tooth-coloured parts to blend in with the teeth.

Aura Dental also offers orthodontic correction with aligners, which are sometimes referred to as invisible braces/removable braces. Their clear nature combined with the ability to take them out at home makes them a popular choice.

With this option, unlike with fixed braces, there is no need to adopt special dental hygiene techniques during treatment. The aligners are simply removed for cleaning and tooth brushing.

The aligner systems used at Aura Dental are the Inman Aligner, for rapid correction of protrusion or crowding of the front teeth (taking six to 18 weeks, this is the fastest option available from Aura Dental) and Invisalign, which involves using a series of aligners to gently move the teeth.

Whether braces or aligners are used, regular check-ups at Aura Dental will be required for the duration of treatment.
