The plastic pellets are pushed through a heated barrel and melted to produce a thick consistency, and the reciprocating screw driven by an electric or hydraulic motor presses the molten plastic into a temperature controlled metal mold through a series of high pressure conduits. Once the polymer is injected into the Pet Preform Mould and filled, the temperature drops rapidly and the final product is discharged from the mold. The speed of this process means that a machine can make thousands of units in an hour.
