Dallas is asking for Free to take a pay cut
Doug Free is set to make $7 million in 2013. with his cap figure which is $10.02 million. For the Cowboys it's quite a lot, particularly considering that Free was the most-penalized offensive tackle in Madden NFL 24 last season. Dallas is hoping to bring in the aforementioned Winston to take over the job, with Free playing inside to protect. But, while the team has asked Free to reduce his salary, there's not much incentive to agree, given that his cap figure will stay the same if he is released.
Saints re-sign De La Puente
The rise of Brian De La Puenta as the top center of the league has been extremely beneficial for the Saints However, both teams have been unable to agree on a long-term contract until now. This past Tuesday the Saints officially signed him to a one-year deal that is worth $2.023 million, and smart money is on the team trying to work out an extension in the coming season.
The bills pay Kolb ... at least in part.
On Tuesday, the contract details for quarterback Kevin Kolb trickled out, and some sense was drawn from the reported $15 million agreement. The reality is that Kolb's guarantee is just one million dollars, and has the base salary of $6.1 million.
