In all, ESPN2 took on 29 nights of programming throughout the course of the season. Additionally, every NBA 2K League match on ESPN's platforms also aired live throughout the Caribbean, Latin America, Oceania and Sub-Saharan Africa. The distinct viewership of ESPN2 and Twitch viewers combined with the distinctive Twitch viewers to watch the NBA 2K League attracted more than one million unique viewers every time it was shown.

This year's NBA 2K League Finals, during which the Wizards Gaming squad defeated the Warriors Gaming Squad 3-1, witnessed 1.1 million unique viewers tune into Twitch on its own. Donohue claimed, "As you see in gaming and in esports particularly, there was just phenomenal expansion and we definitely benefitted from it."

Rack and Raangee were thought to be part of the scheme. A FAQ document was created in order to explain the scheme. In a document obtained by P.TV, Raangee claimed he was just "the one who is the one who opens an opportunity to give players" while Rack along with a third accomplice identified as Calvin who does not seem to be part of the NBA 2K community, dealt with the financial aspects of the plan. "First first I'd like to state that what we're doing is absolutely legal," Rangee says in the FAQ document obtained by P.TV. "If it were illegal, I would not be doing it , because there is no amount enough to warrant me being in jail. Consider that if it were a fraud, I and [Rack] would not bother publicizing our names so that others could see. This community is dear to me and I have been spending a lot of time making my name known."

To put it simply the victims were led to believe that if they paid a sum of money to Calvin, they would be paid back (by Rack) with unusually high interest rates, and Raangee would be given a 25 percent cut as a kind of recruitment fee. "He Rack usually issues a receipt detailing the amount we're due, and the funds are received about 7-14 business days because of his security measures at the bank," the FAQ document claims.
