There is an entire Madden NFL games series has a very dedicated audience. NFL fans, after all, don't have any other choice for football games. This is why Madden NFL 22 is still doing exceptionally well despite its launch in mid-August and as the NFL season approaches the ninth week of its season. However, it's precisely the investment from Madden fans that's been hit through a particularly traumatic glitch. Two and a half months following Madden NFL 22's launchdate, it's possible that players could lose their entire franchise.

Madden NFL 22's players have faced an unsettling bug since the game's launch. The exact cause for the problem is still unclear. However, the result is quite clear. Players will try to access their soccer team's franchise using Franchise mode but it won't open. No matter what they do whether they reinstall Madden NFL 22 on their PC or using a second (or 3rd) saved game, the save won't succeed. The save files of their Franchise mode teams will become corrupted and non-playable.

What makes this error so particularly unacceptable is the fact that franchise mode within Madden is the area where players can get a unending, continuous football experiences. Franchises are able to have numerous seasons across the years but their saves can be corrupted without warning. They'll lose their entire progress and have no other option than to start all over again.

Electronic Arts has acknowledged that there's an issue. There's a fix working on, but there isn't currently a timetable on when the solution will be released. EA community manager Blueberry wrote a post on EA's official bug reporting forum, which said that their development team was working on the issue.

Since there are reports that this bug dates back to at the very least Madden NFL 21, it's difficult to believe that it has taken this long for the bug to be addressed. At the very minimum it seems like EA will be paying more attention. There's no indication of whether players will get their saved data back or if they'll need to start over.
