I have been getting my feet wet on EoC after roughly two decades of straight Legacy drama (and three and a half years back during Runescape game's golden days, but that's not really applicable ), and one thing that disturbs me to get new Runescape players coming in is how awful the default EoC interface is really for finding things. You can customize it to your liking and that is great, however, the first response of an experienced Runescape player should not be"where the hell did a lot of my options go?". When it's that bad for me personally, I can not even imagine what it's like for a Runescape participant.

On the Legacy port, and in OSRS, most of the important interfaces are a click away, not"mouse over a button and select from a bar". Gear, magic, prayers, stock, quests, and all the default MMO trappings (buddies, clans, etc.) are clearly marked and discuss equal place on the display rather than being buried. I'm not saying that the Legacy interface is perfect; I would like faster access to the Hero tab and also the simple fact that you could just have two Action Bars up at a time when using it together with EoC/Revo feels stupidly random; but it is so much cleaner that I honestly believe it ought to be the default for new Runescape players.

Do not be under any illusion, mobile was made purely to possess MTX pushed to - that I think it would be difficult to dispute that fact. With all the millions spent on development, you have to anticipate it. The problem Jagex will have when new customers and MTX is they have neglected to mirror the firms. Examine the big boys - Chocolate Crush Angry Birds etc. - what do they have in common? They are incredibly simple games (relatively speaking) and there is an immediate satisfaction in their MTX (e.g. it allows them to advance to another level almost immediately ).

Your average mobile user is not likely to have the attention span or capability to want to invest as much time into a game as complex as Runescape, and less so want to buy MTX as (aside from decorative ), they do not offer instant rewards. What is the purpose in BXP if take out menial jobs and they need to go, or what is the point in leveling when they have no idea what is evolves also? £8 worthiness of keys will probably get you hardly any in-game content or BXP/cosmetics in RS3, however in other games will let you advance greatly. Can Anybody remember Game of War? At one time it was turning over millions of dollars in revenue every day and had its own match promoted by Mariah Carey during the Super Bowl - Runescape game ultimately got too complicated, and the programmers resulting in its demise.

Runescape game is far, far too expansive for cellular. Even RGP games on mobile lead Runescape gamer to objectives and via a linear story which sort-of captures Runescape players focus and receives them from A to Z through X. RS3 is effectively a sandbox. Their intentions would be to attempt to get the present gamer-base to cellular, and presumably by definition of milk them further for MTX gains since they are able to perform - who knows. OSRS on cellular? Sure, I will see how it would work due to the simplicity of its design. RS3? There is just too much going on to want to stay with this. I had been fortunate enough to get early access on the two - I think I played with across both matches total about two hours.
