December 9, 2015, Dubai, UAE: Endorsed by NGV Global, the 2nd Annual Middle east City Gas & NGV Summit kicked off in Dubai at the Le Meridien Dubai Hotel and Conference Center yesterday. Gathering leaders from government bodies, environmental associations and transport and oil & gas industry, the summit aimed at formulating an action plan that encompasses the very basis of Natural Gas Distribution network and its usage.

Day one began with the keynote speech delivered by Emirates Transport. Mohmed Ismail Vakharwala from ADNOC Distribution, the NGV recruitment partner of the summit, addressed the audience with a keynote speech on natural gas distribution in Abu Dhabi – an initiative by ADNOC Distribution for national benefit. Brett Subritzky, Strategies Expert from Ministry of Transport, Qatar, spoke about Qatar's story of national gas for public transport and the future vision for natural gas as a fuel in Qatar.

The day also featured presentations by representatives from Sauer Compressors, GrDF France, Kirloskar Pneumatic, ADIA and GSPC. A case study discussing the CNG success story in Abu Dhabi was presented by Oliver Kuhner, Director at Bauer Kompressoren, Germany. The day ended with a presentation on integrated gas distribution networks by the Gujarat State Gas Corporation.

Day two of the event began with the keynote address of another representative from Emirates Transport, Mr. Mahir Al Sayed Ali. He spoke about Emirates Transport warranty acceptance after conversion of vehicles to NGV. Talking about Emirates Gas CNG initiatives, Fazal Ali Khan from Emirates Gas, UAE, helped the audience understand the objectives of CNG projects.

Followed by his presentations were sessions on Natural Gas for transports today and tomorrow, NGV distribution and business challenges as well as developing NGV fueling infrastructure. Day two ended with a session by IDIADA, on homologation process for OEM NGV.
