Increasing water stress and stringent environmental guidelines in Latin America have led mining companies to adopt new technologies to manage water efficiently and reduce operational costs. For the 4th consecutive year, Fleming Gulf will be organizing the LatAm Mine Water Conference, for environment and water management professionals from the region's mining firms to address water risks & understand views of regulatory authorities and stay updated with the latest water management solutions available.
Endress + Hauser, a global leader in measurement instrumentation, and industrial process engineering solutions, recently announced their participation as Silver Sponsor of the conference.
Speaking to Fleming Gulf about the current challenges facing the industry, Eloisa Doro, Product Manager Analytics at Endress+Hauser said, “The growing concern about the impact of mining activities on the environment points to both rational use of water resources,as well as water treatment discarded during the mineral processing process. It is known that the pollution of aquifers is more difficult to occur whereas soil itself acts as a natural filter medium capable of retaining various pollutants. The mining and mineral processing activities can contribute heavily to the pollution of surface and ground water, if there is no strict control of the operations involved.” Eloisa Doro will also be speaking at the conference in August. She has been with Endress + Hauser since 2008, with 6 years in the sales department and then marketing.
