We understand the special requirements of sewage treatment plants and the water industry. Zhejiang Golden Machinery Factory have developed a special Thickening Equipment for sewage treatment plants.

For dewatering and thickening sewage slurry, it is necessary for special properties of the bowl, gear unit and control system to be guaranteed. This is the only way to achieve maximum dewatering and thickening of the sewage slurry.

Thickening sewage slurry means concentrating surplus slurry produced in the biological stages from 5 to 10 g/l total dry solids to 5 to 8%, before it is pumped into the digestion tower. The slurry volume is reduced by 90 to 95% in this process.

It is characterised by its high performance, reliability and efficiency. The latest studies into fixed costs (capital and personnel) and variable costs (electricity, water and polymer consumption as well as spare parts) prove that the decanter offers decisive advantages compared to other thickening units.

Irrespective of whether the sludge will be transported, recycled, taken to landfill or incinerated after dewatering, it is decisive for it to be as dry as possible. Other important factors include economical polymer, energy and water consumption as well as a low requirement for spare parts.

For Zhejiang Golden Machinery Factory, innovation is the key to the success of our customers and the driver for many of our actions.

We have developed an innovative method for thickening sewage sludge based on starch polymers. As of 2017, polymers may only be used if the sludge and the individual components can decompose by at least 20% within two years. Synthetic polymers currently fail to meet those requirements. One alternative could be polymers based on starch.

Efficient Dewatering of Waterworks/Potable/Drinking Water Sludge

This sludge is formed during the cleaning and treatment of drinking water. Disposing of the sediment sludge can result in significant transportation and disposal costs.

Maximum separation/dewatering of the sludge, without operating personnel intervention, reduces the resulting cake volume requiring removal to the minimum.
