[Birmingham, February 2020] Birmingham based Optician and Entrepreneur, David Mason is launching a brand-new eyewear brand, Oculy that is set to offer greater choice for people who wear glasses at affordable prices.

Oculy combines an eCommerce website that will offer customers the opportunity to customise and design their glasses from over 30 colour combinations with advanced SDS 3D printing techniques that bring them to life.

David was very aware that his customers often couldn’t get the colour and style of glasses they were looking for, so he was inspired to come up with a solution. This coupled with a keen interest in technology lead David to investigate 3D printing frames.

The flexibility of the 3D printing process opens a world of possibilities for Oculy customers – spectacle shapes, styles and colour combinations result in over 184,000 options being made available. The process also allows precision production which benefits the environment by reducing waste.

David Mason, founder of Oculy stated: “I believe that by producing some of the first readily available 3D printed prescription spectacles anywhere, we are giving customers the freedom to create and design the glasses they are really looking for. Not only that, but they will be available at a good price so they can have a number to choose from depending on their mood.
