Topic: K94Heroes.org President Courts Kansas Schools for Fundraising

Drew Lipscomb needed a way to raise a lot of money for her community benefit company in addition to persuading businesses to donate, so she decided to reach out to Kansas Middle Schools and she started with her Dad’s hometown- El Dorado Kansas.

Before contacting the school principle, she met with Sue Givens, Superintendent of El Dorado Schools. Sue is regarded as one of the premiere superintendents in the state of Kansas and she loved the idea Drew had.
Essentially, Drew presented the idea that having students raise money for a good cause was important and a great lesson for the students. As most parents know, students traditionally sell popcorn, candy and cookie dough in order to raise money. However, Drew and Sue agreed the traditional commerce method of trading a product for money and pocketing the difference is teaching the students that only business transactions are effective at raising money, and that is not true, as any charity can confirm.

After getting approval from Sue Givens Drew Lipscomb contacted Karla King, the principle of El Dorado Middle School and met with her to present the need of funding professionally trained service dogs for area veterans. Needless to say, Karla got on board and along with her Vice Principle; they began brainstorming ideas to help K94Heroes accomplish their money raising goal in Butler County, Kansas.
