It's been two weeks since we published the Squeal of Fortune and we desired to take the opportunity to respond to a number of the participant feedback, correct some misconceptions about the prevalence of the upgrade, motivations behind the upgrade and importantly outline why it is also here to stay.

First I want to say thank you to everyone who has delivered us feedback about the current Squeal of Fortune updates. We designed the Squeal of Fortune in the beginning to be an enjoyable and light-hearted feature to RuneScape, providing gamers a fresh method to receive free rewards every day that they log in to RuneScape. As with many of our upgrades , our members always receive extra benefits like double the free spins daily and we have evolved it since launch -- providing all of our gamers many additional ways to earn free Squeal spins within the game.

We recognise that a few in the area have mixed feelings about the Squeal of Fortune and, whilst we spend a great deal of time and effort creating game experiences that resonate with the majority of our gamers, the reality is due to the epic dimension of our community it simply isn't possible to please all our players all of the time despite desperately striving too. Therefore our philosophy has always been to do what is right for the long-term health of the game, a fact many of the long standing player will know I've consistently done over the years irrespective of the initial pain, together with the not so distant Bot nuke a fantastic example. I can confidently say that we've always been rewarded for doing the right thing in the long run and the reality today is that the game is not only always improving but our neighborhood steadily grows year on year.

That said, all of the comments we receive for our updates and how the community engage with it is still extremely important for us. We've been reading your posts on the forums and listened to some concerns. Because of your feedback, we implemented a few changes to the manner Squeal of Fortune works, like adding new ways to get additional spins as in-game benefits and also introducing extra payment protection for everyone in game purchases when gamers notified us it was a concern.
