Increasing demand in natural gas is seeing a rise in LNG and FLNG projects. Global Gas Opportunities Summit will look closely at the recent developments in the gas industry.

Recently BP's Chief Executive Bob Dudley announced that BP is set to sign a deal to supply LNG worth $20 billion to China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). With increasing demand for energy, especially natural gas, there has been a significant rise in LNG and FLNG projects globally. Focus for companies has tilted on exploring, producing and refining natural gas for consumption from stranded gas fields facilitating cross border operations and transmission.

2nd Annual Global Gas Opportunities Summit to be held at the Sheraton Istanbul Atakoy, Turkey on 21 - 22 October 2014 will aim to gather global experts to discuss and analyse the latest developments in the gas industry. These experts via various sessions and discussions will look at topics like opportunities for small scale LNG, infrastructure development and changes, issues pertaining to supply and demand, gas pricing strategies and pension and sovereign investment in natural gas in a time of geopolitical realignment.

Nuno Afonso Moreira, Chairman - IGU Gas Utilization, Board member of Sonorgas will be presenting at the summit on small scale LNG projects, its feasibility and development of transportation and infrastructure modes. During the last 15 years Moreira has been involved in the development of the gas industry in Portugal and he has made a strong contribution on the Portuguese gas legal framework. Moreira is involved in IGU activities and is now the chairman of the Working Committee 5.1 – Gas Industrial Utilization, where he leads a group of experts, reporting on the promotion of the use of gas in industrial processes in the world.

Other speaking organizations include BOTAS, RWE, IGU Gas Utilization, World Pensions Council, Total S.A., International Finance Corporation, World Energy Council, Bosphorusgaz and Petroleb. The forum is being supported by The Independent Power Producers Forum (IPPF), an international non-profit NGO of Senior Executives and decision-makers and related firms with energy business commitments. It will be an excellent opportunity for delegates to learn of the latest practices in play in the gas industry and implement these very practices in their organizations.
