Hospitality Conference in Bengaluru to Address Pivotal Industry Challenges

The two day summit will showcase presentations, case studies and powerful brainstorming sessions to fight the current issues and challenges faced by hoteliers.
 
Recent studies suggest that the travel and tourism industry accounts for 9% GDP and 260 Million jobs all around the world. Also known for its hospitality around the world, Indian hoteliers have to face some of the toughest challenges.

Studies reveal that the major obstracles faced by the hotel owners in India are mostly due to the lack of skilled labour. It has also been found that the rising cost of utilities and energy has had an adverse effect on hoteliers all over the nation. High taxes adds yet another discomfort along with rising land costs and permit requirements. India lacks travel managers and tour guides which are very essential to facilitate travel.

The Hospitality India Summit, 22-23 August 2014, in Bengaluru will feature panel discussion sessions on the challenges in the Indian hotel sector with regards to meeting the modern traveler. Great emphasis will be given on the dynamics of the Indian hotel industry, the global hospitality players and managing the image for creating brand loyalty. Special Insight will be thrown on the pivotal role of the Government of India in licensing policies, acquisition of land - its issues & challenges.

P.K Mohankumar, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Roots Corporation Limited will be speaking on the 360 degrees overview of the hotel industry. He will address the challenges faced in procurement of a unit, budgets & the challenges in planning and contract management & debt equities and manpower management. He will also participate in a panel discussion on the advent of expanding the hotel industry; its issues & concerns.

Prashanth Aroor, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IntelliStay Hotels Private Limited will address the concerns of return on investment (ROI) & other factors that affect the hotel sector . He will be talking on major issues of business retention which is a challenge for this sector , business restructuring & remodelling strategies and breaking the clutter using innovation communication strategy .

Participants will get a comprehensive understanding of the hospitality education in India. Additionally, the summit will feature ground breaking new project presentations on securing payments for the Indian hospitality sector, the rapid trend of partnering with Indian business units, overview of the sector with regards to foreign direct investment, smooth flow of operations through information technology and the role of information technology (IT) in the Indian hotel industry.The summit is supported by the South India Hotels & Restaurants Association (SIHRA).
