About leadership and skills of interaction with others.

A certain event in college changed my life and influenced my professional growth. During my studies, I was a student leader and was required to prepare a list of people who would attend a conference organized by our school. The school required a maximum of 30 students, but the number of learners in our school was more than that. I had to be very careful about selecting the students to ensure that I did not stir up hatred. To avoid that, I came up with an innovative idea to come up with the list. I selected five students from each class, and they helped me compile the list. I received a request from a student who was willing to give cash to be included in the group. I had to deal with the issue carefully to ensure that I made the right decision and protected our friendship at the same time.

That event gave me a good lesson in matters relating to leadership. Leadership involves sharing ideas with others to engage them in a certain activity (Wheatley, 1999). One does not need to do all the work or dictate to other employees. The best approach is to delegate duties and work together to ensure that work is done efficiently.

Another leadership skill that I learnt from the event is being open and transparent. This requires good communication skills to ensure that nobody is angered. I also learnt that corruption is a common challenge to leaders. One should approach the problem thoroughly to ensure that the employees feel they are fairly treated (Wheatley, 1999). Corruption is a problem that leaders face in their daily activities; it can affect the professional life of a leader. In that case, one should avoid engaging in such acts as much as possible.
In conclusion, the event in college was of high importance for me as a leader. I was able to apply the leadership skills that I had learnt in class.

In conclusion, I would like to say why is personal accountability important (link on the essay below) First of all, we live in a world where social relationships are moving to a personal level. That is, when I am alone at home, I continue to reflect and interact with others in a certain way.
