They want your company for the road.

Currently distributed in Florida, AquaMelon is taking the brakes off its operations by going nationwide. "This is a pivotal moment for high-powered athletes and performance-driven professionals around the country who want to be able to access the properties of watermelon to give their brains and bodies what they need, which is proper hydration," says Dez Williams, founder of AquaMelon in Tampa, Florida.

"We've already seen our.watermelon water go viral locally. We're putting out a call for all of our fans, alternative energy drink enthusiasts and investors, wherever they are, to join AquaMelon's phase two launch by supporting us through our Fundable page."

AquaMelon feels at home with the Fundable platform's "all or nothing" model, which, in essence, works like 'meet the goal, or refund the money.' Williams is no stranger to putting hard work behind innovative ideas, and success usually follows. He started AquaMelon in 2013, while pursuing a Master's degree at the University of Southern Florida MUMA College of Business. In just one year, Williams was able to form corporate partnerships and secure AquaMelon's seed funding, while winning 1st Place in the USF Fintech Business Plan Competition and 1st Place Runner Up in the statewide Florida Venture Forum Early Stage Conference. Not content, Williams cofounded the USF Student Innovation Incubator to help others.

Meanwhile, AquaMelon products are in the refrigerated sections of 25 local retailers this year - and with good reason.

"Watermelon reduces body fat [and] lowers LDL 'bad' cholesterol," says Dr. Kevin Soden of Health Smarts. Dr. Arturo Figueroa, Ph.D. (Physiological Sciences) of Florida State University found these results: "“Watermelon is the richest edible natural source of L-citrulline... the amino acid required for the formation of nitric oxide essential to the regulation of vascular tone and healthy blood pressure.” Brain-wise, researchers at the University of Connecticut have documented the effects of dehydration on cognitive function. Rehydrating with a product like AquaMelon can help turn that around.

People in Florida have "come to love, understand and connect" with AquaMelon drinks, says Robert Godina of GM Locale Gourmet Market, who carries the brand. "It's taken off very, very well."

Williams wants to scale AquaMelon up, so the waters will reach consumers in every state. He's turned to crowdfunding for the additional investment needed to purchase new processing equipment and to secure the facilities that will help support AquaMelon's leap into nationwide distribution.

"Of course, every contributor to our success will receive perks through the campaign's reward system. But the real prize is knowing you're part of something big. We're aiming for number one, here, and we want you to be a part of that," says Williams.

AquaMelon LLC is a minority, American, veteran-owned business. All watermelons are hand-harvested at peak of season and cold-processed for best taste. No preservatives. No pasteurization. Packed with its own natural nutrients and electrolytes, AquaMelon is available in five varieties: Best Harvest, Cabana Breeze, Ginger Beach, Daytona Burst and Miami Mist.
