Microsoft hat in Build 10565 auch Änderungen an der Erkennung des Standarddruckers vorgenommen. Der zuletzt verwendete Drucker wird jetzt stets automatisch beim nächsten Aufruf des Druckmenüs als Standarddrucker festgelegt. Das soll sicherstellen, dass Nutzer in den allermeisten Fällen den gewünschten Drucker voreingestellt vorfinden.Wie immer bei solchen Vorschauversionen von Windows 10 weist auch die neueste Ausgabe einige bekannte Fehler auf. Ein solcher betrifft die Xbox-App, die gleich mehrere Gigabyte an Arbeitsspeicher belegen kann, wenn der Bibliothek klassische Windows-32-Bit-Anwendungen hinzugefügt wurden. Nach dem Beenden der App sollte dieser Speicher aber wieder freigegeben werden. Außerdem kann es auf kleineren Geräten wie dem Dell Venue 8 Pro zu Bluescreens kommen.

Die aktuelle Insider Preview ist im wahrsten Sinne als Vorschau auf das nächste große Feature-Update für Windows 10 zu verstehen, das Microsoft intern mit dem Codenamen „Threshold 2“ bezeichnet und welches voraussichtlich im November 2015 für alle Windows 10 Nutzer veröffentlicht werden wird. Threshold 1 war folglich die Ausgabe von Windows 10, die im Juli 2015 an erste Endkunden und die PC-Hersteller ausgeliefert wurde.Dell hat heute ein geplantes Übernahmegeschäft offiziell gemacht, das es in sich hat. Für die Rekordsumme von sage und schreibe 67 Milliarden US-Dollar will der aktuell drittgrößte PC-Hersteller den Datenspeicheranbieter EMC übernehmen. Der Deal ist eigentlich schon eine abgemachte Sache, allerdings fehlt noch das grüne Licht der EMC-Aktionäre. Die Firma VMware, an der EMC über 80 Prozent der Anteile hält, soll so oder so als eigenständige Firma bestehen bleiben.
