Man richtet sich hier offensichtlich an Nutzer mit Apple-Hardware, natürlich kann man aber auch andere Geräte anschließen. Getestet hat man USB-C PD (Power Delivery) mit MacBook Pro 15″, MacBook Pro 13″, MacBook, iPad Pro, iPhone X, iPhone 8 sowie iPhone und iPad. Muss man schauen, was man für Geräte hat, bzw. welche Voraussetzungen diese haben. Der USB-C-Anschluss liefert bei tizis Tankstation 60 Watt. Ersetzt also dementsprechend das Apple-Netzteil mit 61 Watt, welches die MacBook Pro mit 13 Zoll standardmäßig haben.Dazu kommen die drei USB-Ports, die 15 Watt liefern. Dies aber geteilt, nicht einzeln. Theoretisch könnte man, wenn man viel aufzuladen, bei Aufladung eines MacBook Pro an dieses ein iPhone hängen, dann würde man über den 60-Watt-Anschluss das MacBook Pro und das iPhone laden, während man anderen Geräten am USB-A-Anschluss 15 Watt shared mitgeben kann. Falls man nur MacBook und iPhone aufladen will, dann kann man dies natürlich auch getrennt machen.

Wissenswert: MacBooks laden iPhones immer nur bis maximal 2.4A, selbst wenn man ein USB-C Kabel verwendet. Das Motherboard eines MacBooks gibt einfach nicht mehr her, bzw. spricht gar nicht „PD“ mit dem iPad oder iPhone 8/X.Die-A Seite der Tankstation hat gesamt 15W shared. Hier lädt man dann zum Beispiel den 5-Watt-Verbraucher und das iPad mit 10Watt. Sobald der 5-Watt-Verbraucher voll ist, kann das iPad sich bis 12 Watt holen, sofern es das will. Das MacBook Pro holt beim Aufladen auch nicht kontinuierlich die vollen Watt, ebenso zieht kein iPhone X nicht alles, wenn der Akku fast voll ist. Das X1 Carbon bleibt der leichteste kommerzielle 14-Zoll-Laptop der Welt. Es ist mit nahezu unzerbrechlichen Gehäuse aus einem Kohlefaser-Verbundwerkstoff gefertigt und in Silber oder im klassischen ThinkPad-Schwarz erhältlich.
