The NdFeB magnet system is also used in the wet process industry. In a wet process situation, a large magnetized piece is first brought to room temperature and then washed. Then, the magnetized piece is placed in a cold oven along with a solution of waste acid and scrubbed with abrasive materials to remove the waste acid solution. The magnetized piece is then dried at 100 degrees Fahrenheit in the wet process environment. The magnets in the dry piece act like a spring and continue to attract additional waste acid solution until it is washed free of the acid by another process.

After processing, a thin smooth layer of ndfeb metal can be applied over the magnetized piece. Then, a sheet of neoprene is applied to protect the metal from moisture and dust. The final processing steps involve mounting the magnets in a case, heating them up to room temperature, and then printing them on customized labels. These processing steps make magnets suitable for manufacturing products ranging from household products to medical devices.
