A core is a device that is used in casting and molding processes to produce internal cavities and reentrant angles.

A core is a device that is used in casting and molding processes to produce internal cavities and reentrant angles. The core is normally a disposable item that is destroyed to get it out of the piece. The core defines multiple passages inside cast engine blocks. The core is normally used in sand casting but is also used in die casting, and injection molding.

There are 10 types of Core Casting

Sand Casting also known as Sand Molded Casting, is a metal casting process characterized by using sand as the mold material. Core casting is used to make metal components of all sizes, ranging. Sand molds can be formed to create casting with fine exterior and inner cores, and other shapes.
Investment Casting – investing casting is an industrial process based on lost wax casting, one of the oldest known metal-forming techniques. It can also refer to modern investment casting processes.

Advantages of Core Casting

• Smooth investment casting uses a ceramic mold that can produce a much smoother finish mold
produces.
• Faster production
• Tight tolerance
• Affordable tooling
• Vast size range
• Material variety

Die Casting – is a manufacturing process in which molten metal is poured or forced into steel molds. The molds also known as tools or die are created using steel and are specially designed for each project. This allows each component to be created with accuracy and repeatability.

Lower pressure die casting - This is a method of production that uses pressure rather than gravity – to fills the mold with molten metal such as aluminum and magnesium. In this process, the holding furnace is located below the cast and the liquid metal is forced upwards through a riser tube and into the cavity.

Centrifugal Casting – is a process that delivers components of high material soundness. The centrifugal casting process step begins with molten metal being poured into a preheated, spinning die. The die may b oriented either or a vertical or horizontals axis depending on the configuration of the desired part.

Gravity Casting – it refers to the molding method in which liquid metal is filled with a metal mold under the action of gravity and cooled and solidified in the mold to obtain a casting.

A core is a performed, bonded, sand insert placed into the mold to shape the interior of a casting or a part of the casting that cannot be shaped by the pattern. Cores are frequently used to create hollow sectors or cavities in a casting. Custom mold inserts machining where you can customize the cap and give shape in different types and colors.

Core casting making is the process that forms the interior part of the casting. The mold provides a space for the molten metal to go, while the core keeps the metal from filling the entire space. Cores can be used to extend mould projections to create extra mould sections or to block out and create negative drafts. Custom mold components such as insert, mold sliders, lifters, core and cavity blocks, ejector pins. Visit Nicety mould Co. Ltd to know more http://www.nicety-mould.com/mould/57292226.html
