New York, NY – Author B.J. LaRue, one of Hollywood’s most celebrated ghostwriters, has stepped out of the shadows and into the limelight with her Romantic Fiction series: “50 Grades of Shay.”

Commenting on her title twist of E.L. James’ Erotic Blockbuster “50 Shades of Grey”, Ms. LaRue had this to say : “I knew I was taking a risk with the title. And also that at first glance, potential readers would assume it was just a junk book trying to cash in on the success of 50 shades. However, I was willing to take that risk. Because it’s a work of quality.

Reviewer’s comments on the format of the Author’s pen names and the similarity of the theme of 50 Shades and 50 Grades hasn’t fazed Ms. LaRue.

“Yes, our names are in a similar format. So What? As to the theme,it’s older than the pyramids. ‘Young girl falls for rich, powerful man’ If you think that theme was an original creation of E.L. James – you need stronger coffee!”

Continuing, on the subject of her creative process Ms. LaRue confided :”I had the germ of the idea for this series years before 50 Shades of Grey appeared. But with my paid writing assignments, just never had the time to develop it.”

When asked if 50 Shades of Grey as an inspiration for her book in any way, Ms. LaRue replied: “Absolutely. But not in the way you’d think. The fantastic success of a book so poorly written was the kick in the but I needed to soldier on to create a well written story with believable characters and identifiable situations.

When asked if She was hoping for success similar to 50 Shades, Ms. LaRue replied: “First of all – hope is for dopes. A feel good fairytale. Whistling in the Dark. A total waste of time and energy. So – I have no ‘hope.’ As to success – That depends on your definition. For me – my series is a success if readers truly enjoy it. If I make a little money, well, that’s the icing on the cake. But it’s not the cake. The cake is the approval of the readers. Without them – an Author has no reason to write.”
