Styling your kids bedroom can be challenging, but it is never hard enough if you have lots of ideas as your guidelines. Here are a few of the most important points to consider in styling your kids bedroom.

Choose the Right Theme or Color Schemes

The color scheme of the room brings about the entire feel of the room whether it is a “Yay” or a “Nay” for your kids. In other words, is imperative that you choose the perfect theme or color scheme. First step, ask your child. Let him or her decide what color he or she wants for her room to be painted with. Next ask if there is any character he or she wants to be included in decorating his or her room.

Most boys want shades of blue, green, black and white, or any darker or deeper hues. They also love characters like pirates, cars, robots, and fantasy. With most girls, on the other hand, they love shades of pink, yellow, purple, white, or any pastel or subtler hues. Characters they prefer most likely are Princesses, fairies, Hello Kitty, Barbie and other fantasy characters.

Fix Some Wood Panels or Wainscoting on the Walls

If you wish to achieve a classy, traditional look for your kid’s bedroom, you may become interested in fixing some wood panels or wainscoting on the walls. Wood panels come in various designs, style, and height. Depending on how you’d want it, you can choose to have it lower or higher but generally, wainscoting is about 1/3 of the height of the wall. Different types of wainscoting are flat panels, raised panel, bead boards, and board and batten.

Choose the Right Furniture and the Perfect Bed

Kids love to have more space for playing and having fun, so it’s better that we always leave more floors space in their room. This is an important point to consider before we buy or fix some furniture inside our kid’s bedroom. We also need to be creative in choosing the right bed especially if the bedroom is shared by two or more kids. Cabinets should not be tall. They need to be only high enough for kids to reach for their stuff.

Kids love everything fancy and colorful. After a day of playing and other activities outdoors or indoors, they would love to retire to their bedroom and pave their way to dreamland. It is therefore essential that the bedroom is most comfortable place in the house. Here are a few of the most important points to consider in styling your kids bedroom.

Decorate with the Right Curtains

One of the first things to be considered in choosing the right curtain are: your child’s gender, age, and how much light is getting into the room. Following these, you’d be able to come up with the right material to pick, the right color and the right design that would suit your child’s preference and the room’s style in general. Most advisable are curtains that are made of natural fabrics, light weight and able to conceal imperfections. With colors, the neutral ones are recommended if the room is being shared by two or more kids of both genders.

Hang Attractive Wall decors or Paintings

Hanging a piece or pieces of wall arts and decors will add value to the entire beauty of the room. Let your child decide what kinds of stuff he or she would like to hang on the wall. It can be a nice painting, a mosaic, or even a collection of his or her artworks! (That is if the kid loves to sketch, paint or doodle on any paper).
Some parents have designed a mural on one side of the room where the child can express his or her art and personality. Some opt to stick on wall decals which is cheaper than wall paper and is easy to install and remove.

For us grown-ups, the bedroom is a place for rest and slumber. But for Kids, it is the place to play, sleep and contain their colorful personality. It should come out that the room is pleasing to us grown-ups, yet perfect for our kids’ needs and taste.
