Dr. Gregory Echt explains the signs and symptoms of pancreatic cancer

Irving, TX – Pancreatic cancer should not be taken lightly because the cancer is dangerous, and is hard to diagnose until it has reached its more advanced stages.
“Pancreatic cancer symptoms depend on the part or area that is affected,” explains Dr. Echt. “so, if an individual has it in the head part of the pancreas, most likely, the person will suffer from abdominal pain and a shade of yellow in their skin. An individual who is suffering from stomach pain and sudden weight loss may have cancer in the tailor the body of the pancreas.”

These symptoms include:

• Jaundice: jaundice is probably the most common symptom of all other signs of pancreatic cancer. This usually happens due to the body's lack of ability to dispose of bilirubin, wherein it is a byproduct that is being produced by worn-out blood cells.

• The abrupt change of appetite: As the tumors take on the abdominal region, they will take away all the healthy cells of essential nutrients and may also restrain the stomach a little bit. This is the reason why there's a slight change in appetite, which may lead to weight loss.

• Stomach pain: the pain may eventually spread out in some areas of the body. This is the most common symptom of pancreatic cancer because the tumorcauses pressure on the organs and the nerves in your abdominal cavity.

• Nausea and vomiting: If cancer presses on the far end of the stomach, it can possibly block it. This makes it hard for food to get through, causing nausea, vomiting, and pain that tend to be worse after eating.

“There are several challenges involved in diagnosing pancreatic cancer in its earliest stages,” says Dr. Echt. “The location of the pancreas deep within the body is the first. Tumors cannot be felt or seen during routine health exams. Symptoms are also generally non-existent in earlier stages, complicating matters even more. In most cases, pancreatic cancer is not detected until it has spread to other organs.”

Being aware of the above signs and symptoms can help to know what to look for, you should seek a reliable cancer clinic for diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer if you experience any of these.
