[Minneapolis, January 5, 2017] – The Intensive Basketball Camp, a basketball skills camp for 13- to 18-year-old boys, offers a comprehensive basketball skills curriculum aimed at perfecting basketball fundamentals. As the camp believes that skills can't improve through gameplay alone, they created this curriculum to help develop “complete” basketball players.

Basketball Skills Curriculum

The camp focuses on developing the following essential basketball skills:

• Shooting – The skill area emphasizes extensive jump shooting work, with position-specific shots for each position group.

• Ball-handling – Players practice ball-handling drills to sharpen focus, muscle memory, hand-eye coordination, and ability to regain ball control.

• Defense – Concerns the correct ways to move one’s feet and create pressure without earning a foul.

• Offensive Footwork – Camp attendees learn to use their body to create space with their defender and take advantage of any mistakes their opponents make.

• Athleticism – Players go through performance training, which includes weight training, plyometric strength, core strength, agility, and running.

• Ball Strength – Players build their ability to end strong when driving towards the rim and maintain a center of gravity that will make them tough to guard.

• Game Strategy – The staff offers game scenarios to test players physically and mentally as well as provide a higher level of understanding of the game.

• Chalk Talk – The coaching staff takes players through a strategy session on topics, such as overcoming adversity, scouting opponents, leadership roles, and more.

• Character Development – Players will need to adhere to a strict set of conduct expectations with the goal of teaching life skills and building positive character traits.

The Intensive Basketball Camp Curriculum Difference

The Intensive Basketball Camp believes that no other training center emphasizes character development as much as they do. They show players how to play harder than they ever thought possible as well. Furthermore, the coaching staff provides mental and physical resources, along with self-confidence, to help players face challenges brought on by competition and life.
