Wir testen Speicherkartenleser mittels einer Referenzkarte (Toshiba Exceria Pro M501 microSDXC 64GB).Das WLAN-Modul trägt einen Chip (QCA9377) der Firma Qualcomm. Neben den WLAN-Standards 802.11a/b/g/n unterstützt dieser auch den schnellen ac-Standard. Die von uns unter optimalen Bedingungen (keine weiteren WLAN-Geräte in der näheren Umgebung, geringer Abstand zwischen Notebook und Server-PC) ermittelten Übertragungsgeschwindigkeiten fallen durchschnittlich aus, da der Chip nur die 1x1-MIMO-Technik unterstützt.Stromverbraucher Nummer eins ist der Bildschirm. Reduzieren Sie die Helligkeit, wenn genug Umgebungslicht vorhanden ist. Das macht man über die Energieoptionen oder das Windows-Mobilitätscenter.

Nach dem 2018er-Modell des ThinkPad X1 Carbon (hier im Test) bringt Lenovo nun auch die Neuauflage des ThinkPad T4xxs auf den Markt. Wie gewohnt positioniert sich das T480s zwischen dem regulären ThinkPad T480 und dem ThinkPad X1 Carbon. Im letzten Jahr hatte das T470s keinen leichten Stand, da es sich nur um ein kleines Update handelte, während sowohl das T470 als auch das X1 Carbon 2017 ein komplettes Redesign spendiert bekommen hatten. Der Abstand zum normalen T470 war plötzlich nur noch sehr gering, wohingegen das X1 Carbon den Vorsprung ausbauen konnte. Mit dem T480s soll sich das nun aber wieder ändern.Unser Testgerät ist das Campus-Modell mit der Bezeichnung 20L8S02D00, welches jedoch nur einer eingeschränkten Nutzergruppe (Schüler, Studenten & wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter) zur Verfügung steht. Für einen sehr attraktiven Preis von 1.259 Euro gibt es einen modernen Intel Core i5-8250U (vier Kerne), 8 GB RAM, eine große 512-GB-SSD (PCIe-NVMe) und das hochauflösende WQHD-Panel (matt), aber kein Betriebssystem. Aktuell haben wir noch keine Informationen über die Topseller-Modelle für alle anderen Kunden, aber zumindest ist das T480s schon im Online-Shop von Lenovo gelistet. Der Konfigurator spuckt bei unserer Testkonfiguration einen Preis von knapp 1.900 Euro aus, allerdings mit Windows 10 Home 64.
