Zur TouchPad-Hardware: Lenovo verbaut ein normales ClickPad mit integrierten Tasten, das nur im unteren Bereich klickbar ist. Die Mechanik produziert gut hörbare Klicks. Die Oberfläche des ClickPads besteht aus Kunststoff und ist ausreichend glatt. Zusammenfassend kann man sagen, dass uns das TouchPad überzeugt.Alle Varianten des IdeaPad 320s-13IKBR, egal ob sie 600 oder 1000 Euro kosten, haben ab Werk ein 13,3 Zoll großes Display mit einer Auflösung von 1.920 x 1.080 (Full HD). Dieser Bildschirm ist zugleich auch immer ein mattes IPS-Panel. Das LCD-Panel stammt vom eher weniger bekannten Hersteller InfoVision, kurz IVO. Mit der Wahl dieses Displays hat Lenovo viel richtig gemacht: Es bietet sowohl eine vergleichsweise hohe Helligkeit von durchschnittlich 304 cd/m² als auch einen hohen Kontrastwert von 1320:1, den die meisten der teureren Konkurrenten nicht übertreffen. Auch hat es kaum Backlight-Bleeding und die Helligkeitsverteilung ist mit 88 % gleichmäßig genug. Nur einen Wermutstropfen müssen wir bemängeln: Die niedrige PWM-Frequenz von knapp 200 Hz, die bei weniger als 100 % Helligkeit auftritt. Für empfindliche Personen kann das schnell Kopfschmerzen bedeuten.

Selbst ohne Kalibrierung liefert der Bildschirm eine gute Farbdarstellung. Eine Kalibrierung mit dem von uns erstellten ICC-Profil verbessert die Farbwerte nur minimal. Subjektiv handelt es sich um ein gutes Display mit einer scharfen Darstellung und natürlichen Farben.Die gute Farbdarstellung lässt sich auch auf die hohe Farbraumabdeckung zurückführen. 97,3 % des sRGB-Farbraums ist ein guter Wert, den selbst viele teurere Notebooks oft nicht schaffen. Damit eignet sich das IdeaPad sogar für semi-professionelle Bildbearbeitung, auch wenn das Notebook an sich sicherlich nicht auf diese Zielgruppe ausgerichtet ist.Die Kombination von hoher Helligkeit (über 300 cd/m²) und der matten Oberfläche des Displays sorgt dafür, dass man das Testgerät auch im Außenbereich einsetzen kann. Bei einem Subnotebook ist das eine nicht unwichtige Messlatte.

Vier verschiedene Displays stehen dem Anwender zur Wahl. Unter anderem kann das Lifebook U758 auch mit einem Touch-Display (FHD) bestückt werden. In unserem Test-Sample von Fujitsu finden wir jedoch ein 4K-Display von LG. Mit einer durchschnittlichen Displayhelligkeit von 304 cd/m² ist das UHD-Panel des Lifebook U758 nicht ganz so hell wie die Bildschirme des EliteBook 850 G5 (383 cd/m²) und des Schenker Slim 15 (336 cd/m²). Aufgrund des guten Schwarzwertes (0,24) erreicht das Lifebook U758 mit 1.300:1 hier im Vergleich das beste Kontrastverhältnis. In puncto Ausleuchtung braucht sich unser Test-Sample ebenfalls nicht zu verstecken, denn mit 93 % ist diese recht gut, wenngleich sichtbares Clouding nicht vermieden werden kann. Als störend empfanden wir dies im Alltagsgebrauch jedoch nicht. Einen weiteren Pluspunkt bekommt das Lifebook U758 für die Helligkeitsregulierung, denn das LG Panel verzichtet auf eine PWM-Steuerung.
