[PROVO, 02/17/2016] – The Heritage Treatment Center enables students to gain confidence to overcome challenges through humanitarian service. The center uses individualized therapy to meet the specific needs of each student.

Humanitarian Service

The Heritage Treatment Center involves students in meaningful service regularly. The center believes that when a student knows he made a difference in someone else’s life, his confidence will increase.

As students experience joy in serving others, they start looking for chances to make a difference. Heritage believes that learning to think of others and forgetting selfishness is vital to living a happy life. The center engages participants actively in meaningful service, customized to produce life-changing experiences.

The Center invites inspirational speakers with different experiences and backgrounds to share their inspiring message. The center encourages students to choose and organize events on timely topics and to contact related speakers. This generates interest and commitment from students, if they help organize such events.

Heritage understands that spirituality is important to live a happy and healthy life. The center designates certain activities and times for spiritual growth. Students get quiet time for meditation, contemplate nature, write in a journal, write letters to family and friends, or read inspirational books.

The Heritage Treatment Center respects students’ religious beliefs. Led by a Pastoral Counselor and Certified Chaplain, the center provides an interfaith service that promotes voluntary observance of religious traditions and festivities of various denominations. They also hold non-denominational, Catholic, LDS and Jewish services.

Therapeutic Progress

Heritage has a therapeutic boarding school feel that concentrates on progress and overcoming mental health, behavioral and emotional challenges. The center focuses on evidence-based practices and uses the latest techniques integrated with lasting principles to bring permanent change in students.

The personalized therapy meets the individual needs of each student and drives treatment on various areas, such as functioning within the family, social skills and at work or in the classroom. The center patiently works with students and helps them create their own path toward a productive and healthy behavior.
