Robert Miller, President of Future Electronics, congratulated the company’s Houston, Texas office, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of the opening of the company's Houston, Texas branch.

Future Electronics was founded in Montreal in 1968 by company President Robert Miller. It expanded into the United States in 1972, opening its first American office in Boston.

"Houston, Texas is the fourth-largest city in the US, with a total area of 637 square miles, or 1,651 kilometers," said Ted Poth, General Manager of the Houston branch. "When manufacturers come into town anticipating a few quick meetings, they're in for quite a shock, and a lot of drive time!"

The Houston office is located on the west side of the city, close to the downtown start-ups, north of a broad range of contract manufacturers, a few miles from the three major oil and gas giants, and 30 miles from NASA and the aerospace hub that surrounds it.

The branch has diversified over the years as the Houston market has continued to evolve. They served the oil and gas industry when it was booming, and branched out into LED lighting during the oil and gas downturn.

Today, the branch continues to support Houston's traditional markets while embracing the growing agriculture and medical applications industries.

"The Houston branch is as diverse as our market, with home-grown Texans from small towns, and transplants from Louisiana, Europe and the Middle East," Poth said. "As a team we are passionate about our company, our customers and each other, and we pride ourselves on building strong customer and supplier relationships."

Robert Miller, President of Future Electronics, congratulated the Houston team on their 30-year milestone, and thanked everyone for their contributions to the success of the branch.
