[MURRAY, 01/05/2018] — The Utah Dermatologic & Medical Procedures Clinic (UDMPC) offers laser tattoo removal for clients who wish to remove their tattoos. The medical spa mentions that 60 percent of people regret their tattoo after six months; laser tattoo removal is a reliable treatment for unwanted tattoos.

The Treatment

UDMPC works with the CW MaxQ-switched Yag laser, which uses nanosecond pulses of laser energy to shatter the ink particles. Then the body’s immune system slowly destroys the damaged ink, removing a progressively deeper layer of ink in each treatment.

The treatment process varies depending on the kind of tattoo the client wants to remove. The medical spa explains that there will be an average of 12 treatments, and sessions are done monthly. Removing a tattoo, the clinic says, can take up to 12 months.

There are some colors and types of ink that clear faster. For example, black and red inks are the easiest to remove compared to greens, blues, orange, and fluorescent colors. Some brighter colors, however, are difficult to remove completely.

The Technology

Using QX Max Laser is better than other Nd: YAG tattoo removal laser on the market because it delivers more power per nanosecond laser pulse, UDMPC explains. It means that there will be an effective treatment on deeper layers of the ink, resulting in complete clearance.

UDMPC shares that with the proper equipment in the right settings and adequate after-care, laser tattoo removal is safe.
