Chess is no longer confined to an indoor sport, it has become an integral part of the International Olympic Committee. Also there is the World Chess Championship which decides the chess champion of the world. Chess players from all over the world participate in tournaments to prove their worth.
Chess is believed to have originated in India and gradually spread to the rest of the world. The game also evolved and changed over time. The game of chess was considered an integral part of great culture around the world. Nowadays various chess championships and tournaments are held at different times of the year.
The highest title that can be attained in chess is that of Grandmaster. Some of the world's leading chess players are Viswanathan Anand, Garry Kasparov, Alexandra Kosteniuk, Susan Polgar and Mikhail Bolvinik etc.
