Comparison between 2.4g and 5G:

2.4g: long transmission distance, strong anti-attenuation ability, good wall penetration ability. The disadvantages are: free frequency band in industry, science and medical field. Many devices in daily life are in this frequency band, such as bluetooth, microwave oven, remote control, etc., resulting in the congestion of 2.4g channel.

5G: It provides greater bandwidth and can enhance data throughput. 5G frequency band has less interference and faster transmission speed. Disadvantages: poor penetration, short coverage distance, now most of the smart devices still support 2.4g, do not support 5G.
Speed comparison

2.4g single antenna with 40MHZ bandwidth, up to 150M bandwidth. The multi-antenna 2.4g is 300M.

5GB single antenna, 40MHZ, maximum to 300M bandwidth, while 5G in VHT80 mode can reach 433M bandwidth. It can provide 866M at 80MHZ.

Why is the wall penetration effect of 5G signal worse than that of 2.4g signal?

This is determined by the physical properties of electromagnetic waves: the longer the wavelength, the less attenuation, and the easier it is to continue to travel around obstacles. 5G signal has a high frequency and short wavelength, while 2.4g signal has a low frequency and long wavelength. Therefore, 5G signal has a greater attenuation when passing through obstacles, and its ability to penetrate walls is weaker than 2.4g signal.
