Canvas My Photo sheds light on them.......................

Canvas My Photo, a professional photograph to paintings company, has revealed the secrets behind the works of famous art, which are of great interest to enthusiasts.

Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, probably the most famous painting in the world is also one of the most mysterious ones. While there is a belief that the painting is of the painter himself in a drag, studies have shown that the subject of the painting could be Lisa Gherardini. She was a member of the wealthy Florentine family and the painting could have well been commissioned by her father.

Did Da Vinci paint the Last Supper without showing Jesus’ feet? Not at all; the original painting indeed had them but during the installation they became victims of an accident. While the painting was being installed in the doorway of the refectory, the bottom central part of the mural got chopped off. That’s why the missing feet and there is not hidden message to be read into it.

The Scream is the most famous work of the Expressionist artist Edvard Munch. That fact is known by almost everyone. But what many don’t know is that there were five separate versions of this painting. The first two were painted as early as 1893 while the last version was painted in 1910. It’s the painting that was in the news for being stolen in 2004 but was recovered in 2006.

If there is any young lady in the art world who can compare to the might of Mona Lisa, it is Johannes Vermeer’s Girl With A Pearl Earring. The subject of this painting is also often talked about and there are several theories that have done the rounds over the years. However recent studies have shown that the inspiration and the muse for Vermeer’s most famous work could well have been his daughter Maria.

One artist however chose to be mysterious probably more than any other. That’s why Salvadore Dali’s work, especially the hugely debated The Persistence Of Memory, remains one of the greatest mysteries of the art world. According to the painter himself, the melting clocks are inspired by Camembert cheese. But with the notoriously plucky genius, you never know.
