Smashtag: Recording Temperature Data Made Easier

Smashtag was formed with a mission to develop their own wireless products and services that would change the landscape of the logistical temperature monitoring world.

Smashtag Ltd (https://www.smashtag.global/) designs and manufactures temperature data logger devices to be used in the cold chain industry and for checking other temperature sensitive products.

The company provide reliable temperature loggers that are cost-efficient and specifically designed to be user-friendly. Their products are also simple to setup and can collect data temperatures accurately. It can be operated over Bluetooth, along with their exclusive Smashtag app accessible via iPhone and Android devices. This allows clients to download the data and store it in their cloud for anyone in the logistics supply chain to view within seconds.

Clients who do not prefer using the app can manually control the Smashtag Chill tag using the default settings. By clicking the tag’s button at despatch, the data logger will automatically operate. Afterwards, the user can download the recorded temperature data from the Smashtag Chill using Bluetooth-enabled computers or other devices.

Their data loggers are designed to take temperature readings consistently and record 64,000 data points, which can be stored for up to sixty days. Customers can re-use their temperature logging devices once the batteries of their temperature loggers run out of juice; all they need is to start looking for new non-lithium batteries to replace their old ones.

The Smashtag Chill tags’ sensors are specified to ±0.5°C, but the company warns clients that the variation of temperature may differ depending on the physical points of the products, either during the shipping or storage. Smashtag recommends to use multiple tags in various parts of the shipment or even on the external wall of the packaging, helping clients to monitor the temperature data accurately.

Their product also has a waterproof IP68 case, allowing clients to use it for goods that are constantly in contact with harsh environments. According to the company’s website, “An IP68 rating means Smashtag can be used in water as deep as 1.5m. We don’t know of an application where the logger would be left at this pressure but it does mean the logger can withstand it if needed”.

Smashtag highly value their customers and guarantee to provide them with high-quality temperature data loggers. They have team members with extensive skills in electronic design, cloud-based web server, and mobile application development, which enables them to meet their clients’ needs.
